Hawker Harrier II - Pegasus Concept
Central to the unique avionic engineering behind the Hawker Harrier is the custom built Pegasus engine from Rolls Royce. Originally designed by Bristol Siddeley, the Pegasus is not only able to power a jet aircraft forward but also able to direct its thrust downwards via swiveling nozzles enabling the aircraft to hover and maneuver vertically off the ground, adding a fascinating and tactically useful dimension to the modern day jet aircraft.
The AV 4047 is an absorbing piece of watchmaking that deconstructs the traditional pilot watch into a new breathtaking yet wearable piece of superb timekeeping. A Miyota Japanese made 21 jewel self-winding movement is completely overhauled by master watchmakers to register time via a set of 3 individual discs showing – the hour, minutes and hands rotate across the layered dial which is hand-finished with both explicit and subtle references to the Harrier II.
Machined finish detailing frames the time readout with the seconds hand disc bringing the ever march of time to life dynamically and fluidly on this timepiece. Look for the front profile silhouette of the Harrier subtly marked out and acting as marker to call off the time on the timepiece, for an easier read out.
